What is International Games (IG)?
International Games (IG) is one of the main sport event organized by Nanyang Technological University Student's Union (NTUSU) for all NTU students. It is considered as the Mini-Olympic of NTU. It is the only sports event where participants are categorized into their respective countries. Each country will form a Contingent. The purpose of this event is to foster the solidarity and understanding among NTU students through the sporting spirit. This year, International Games is held in conjunction with International Culture and Travel Fair (ICTF 2009) under the common banner of International Month in February 2009.
When and Where it will be held ?
It will be held on the 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th February 2008 at the NTU Sport and Recreation Centre !
How many contingents are there?
There will be 9 different contingents this year, they are: Singapore, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Kazakhstan and Union. Union is a combined contingent consisting students from the countries not listed above as well as exchange students.
What are the games will be competed in IG?
Sports: Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Tennis, Table Tennis, Athletics and Swimming.
Recreational games: Chinese Chess, International Chess, Othello, Scrabble, Counter Strike and DotA.
Is there any other interesting event in IG beside sports and games?
Yes. IG 2009 committee introduced new idea of holding a Sports Fair inside indoor basketball court at NTU Sports and Recreational Center. It is planned to bring well-known sports vendors to come to the fair and set up booth for selling their merchandises in discounted prices.
